Type Analysis and Redesign
Timeline 1 week

Fickl's founder Josie Piper launched a challenge in our class at Langara: how could the onboarding experience be improved and how would a mobile version of the app look like.
The challenge was in maintaining the platform's structure and identity while creating a process that the users would not quit before even starting or give up by 30% of their way. Given the timeline of this project, the design methods applied were a competitors analysis, user personas, proposed user flow, "how might we" questions, mockups and prototypes.
For the business, having a better understanding of the product and its value without the need of so many steps in the onboarding, or without even needing the onboarding at all, means more customers are willing to use and pay for its features.
For the users, the proposed design reduced by 50% the original 28 onboarding steps, and the content can be created and published with as many as 3 clicks. The result also created a version of Fickl that is responsive to mobile screens as well as by creating an app prototype.
